My Set-Up

I transformed this bookshelf into a mini grow-op for my succulents and love the aesthetic it has provided for my home. This was one of the easiest DIYs I have ever come across; I didn’t even need directions! It was pretty straightforward to me, just needed some grow lights and succulent cuttings/leaves, and I was all set.

Succulents have the power to propagate using only one little leaf, so I saved the cuttings from most of the plants I bought, and now have my own little crop of succulent babies. Soon these will be ready to go into their own TerrAmyums! The plants to the left have been nursed back to health and will soon be in their forever homes as well.

A fairy paradise

I created this little gem out of a mini greenhouse I got from IKEA. Upstage we have some lovely tropical plants, including 3 different types of ferns. Stage right is a variegated ivy, which I hope will start to grow all around the frame.  Stage left is an airplant and downstage, in the center, some succulents (one is in a mini copper vase)! I would also like to call attention  to the mushroom house and light fixture.  So cute!!!!

This fairy paradise is currently at my office but is for sale so please let me know if you’re interested, or would like to see more pics.  I love the contrast against the snow, it makes it seem even cozier!

Thanks for visiting!

Hello! I am in the works of getting this site set up, as you can see… I have no experience with website design, whatsoever, but I am pumped to get started and see what I can accomplish! My specialty is creating terrariums, but I am going to give this webiste thing a whirl! In the meanime, I’m open for business so if you have any inquiries, please let me know! Email me at terramyums@gmail.com or check me out on instagram @terramyums

Here’s a little about me, and how TerrAmyums came to be…

I’ve always loved plants, but unfortunately have never had a garden to call my own (Thanks, Vancouver housing market!). I didn’t want to commit to spending any serious cash, because I know I wouldn’t uproot and bring my entire garden with me. Therefore, I am always on the lookout for discount plants, and often just rearrange the pre existing garden in an attempt to make it look slightly better (my fellow renters know what I’m talking about!). This, my friends, is how I got into container gardening! I could still create beautiful arrangements without worrying about leaving my plant babies behind the next time I move.

After creating a few outdoor mini-gardens, I started to work on indoor arrangements using succulents and tropical plants, on an even smaller scale, and loved it! Plus, I was a little obsessed with miniatures as a kid (I guess I still am!); I used to love playing with tiny toys, in tiny houses, with tiny cars and other charmingly tiny things. So, creating terrariums seemed like a great fit for me!

I decided to start TerrAmyums after receiving such positive feedback from everyone who saw the little worlds I created. It seemed like a no brainer to me! I have a full time job in a corporate office, and create my TerrAmyums as a side business. Gardening is a great way to unwind, so I love that I can still do it during the colder months!

I am excited to start this journey and see where it will take me! Wish me luck!
